Playoff exits are always heartbreaking because there is always a feeling of how someone could have done more to prevent a loss. 

Although that sad feeling may sit for a while, it is important to celebrate the highs and lows of the season. 

The baseball team made their playoff exit last night, but this team will never be forgotten.

Baseball’s season was historic as they won the conference and made it all the way to the state semi finals for the second time in three years.

Holly Springs got the best of the baseball team in this series and earned a trip to the state championship.

In game one Holly Springs saw the ball well hitting multiple home runs making it hard for the Crusaders to climb back.

In game two the Crusaders came out hot with five runs in the first inning. In the fifth inning the game was tied 5-5 before a rain delay would force both teams to give up any momentum that they had. Then in the sixth inning, the Crusaders would give up two more runs and never took the game back.

This season was a lot more than a semi-finals loss. It was an outstanding showing of senior leadership backed by impressive play finishing with a (20-7) record and on top of the conference. 

This team will never be forgotten as they are one of the best baseball teams Gibbons has seen.
