As May approaches quickly, Gibbons spring sports are in full swing. The girls soccer team is looking to make one last push before playoffs start. The girls soccer team has started the season strong, looking to keep momentum heading into the rest of conference play and then playoffs.
The team is equipped with a star senior class highlighted by Mercer commit and defender Ashley Gilbert, Colby commit Sophia Juhasz, and Robert Morris commit Kate Sheehan. Seniors Juhasz, Sheehan, and Charlotte Fusco (who is now out for the rest of the season with injury) lead the Crusaders in goals.
At the end of week 10, the Gibbons girls soccer team has earned an impressive 12-1 record, is ranked first in the Triangle Six Conference, and is currently the No. 6 team in the state. With just two games left in the regular season, the Crusaders play at East Chapel Hill on May 1 and will host Cary on May 4 at home for their senior night.
