Kaleidoscope Colors Dance Show a Huge Success

After hours, the school is still filled with excited students and parents holding flowers and presents for their loved ones.

“Each student put their whole heart into this dance,” said student Valentina Kraus about this past Thursday and Friday’s dance concert.

Spectators could see the amount of effort put into this well-executed show.

The show lasted only one hour, but the music and colors resonated with spectators long after the show.  Every dance was unique and different from the next, with costumes ranging from bright, sparkly pink dresses to muted white and brown leotards. The use of costumes to highlight aspects of each dance was clear and fun, for example, the dramatic skirts during the slow and intentional dances.

“The week leading up to the show, we had rehearsals every day where each student had to stay after for three hours and perform their dance multiple times. Students in higher dance levels had to create their own dances and solos or duos and trios to perform in the show,” said Kraus.

The name of the show was Kaleidoscope, and it exemplified this theme throughout. There were lights that made the audience question what the true color of the costumes was, and people flying through the rows with flashes of color passing you by. The athleticism of all of these dancers did not go unnoticed, with the amount of lifts, turns, and acrobatics.

“I got to meet new people and dance with them. We spent the entire semester learning and choreographing the dance, and leading up to the dance show, we were practicing and spacing it on stage to see how it would work,” Kraus said.

Anyone can be part of this dance next year by joining the CREWsaders at their weekly meetings.
