With spring approaching quickly and the new year kicking off, new Gibbons retreats are a great way to start 2026 off on the right foot. Retreats allow students to get away from the noise and stress of high school. Both the boys’ and girls retreats will be located at the Short Journey Retreat Center. These retreats help people focus on relationships on a personal and spiritual level.
Girls Retreat’s New Date: March 24-25
The girls’ retreat will take place on March 24 and end the next day. The upperclassmen girls will leave right after seventh period on that Wednesday and stay overnight while the underclassmen ladies will participate in a mass at 7:45 a.m. on the 25th and make the drive to Short Journey after. Educators’ scheduled to run the retreat will include Ms. Anders, Espina and Kozak. Lots of other female educators across all departments like Ms O’niell, Damarae and Owen. This retreat will be filled with lots of laughter, time to build connections and time of reflection.
Guys Retreat’s New Date: March 25-26
The Guys Retreat is available to all grade levels. The upperclassmen boys will be transported to Short Journey on Thursday, March 25 when the girls retreat concludes. They will spend the night and prepare for the arrival of the underclassman the following day. The underclassmen will spend their school day on Friday, March 26 at Short Journey for a day filled with team building activities and fun competition. Educators scheduled to attend the retreat will include Fr Luke, Mr. Armfield, Perry, Curatolo, Tenace, Bristow, Wright, Liedy, Pakela, Brooker, Tuttle and Blake.
