Upcoming Events for Gibbons Friends and How to Get Involved

Gibbons Friends is a club that creates safe, exciting events for kids and adults with disabilities. They host many events like Trunk N Treat, sensory-sensitive performances, Spring Fling, and dances.

As someone in Gibbons Friends for the first time this year, I would 100 percent recommend joining. My experiences so far have been impactful and have given such a unique perspective on my life. I feel excited and happy when doing service, and this club is a wonderful way to start.

I attended Trunk N Treat back in October, and it was so fun.

I painted pumpkins, danced to music, handed out candy, and other small activities. It was my first time doing an event for Gibbons Friends, and I did not know many people who were participating.

As soon as I got there I was welcomed warmly and automatically felt comfortable with the people around me. Everyone was extremely friendly and kind, and I was excited to be part of such an amazing event.

By the end of the night, I felt fulfilled. I had an amazing time meeting new people, spending time with everyone who came, and participating in service.

I plan to attend most of the events this Spring and look forward to the Shamrock and Sparkles Ball.

Gibbons Friends hosts many events during the spring season.

This year, they will host the Shamrock and Sparkles Ball on March 15, Shrek! A sensory-sensitive performance on April 2, and Spring Fling on May 3.

The first upcoming event is the Shamrock Ball. It consists of multiple activities, such as dancing, signing up, setting up, cleaning up, crafts, a quiet room, and more. Volunteers can build connections with new people and create great memories.

This dance gives people with disabilities the opportunity to experience a school dance that is safe for them. It would be amazing to be a part of their experience.

If you decide to sign up, wear your best dress!

The next event is Shrek! This is a sensory-sensitive version of the show, which provides a safe, fun place where they can sit back and enjoy the show.

Volunteers only must welcome people in and then can sit and watch the show as well, with free entry.

The last spring event was the Spring Fling. As this event is still far away, more information will be available later this month.
