Over his four years at Gibbons, senior Kendall Scotton has grown and prospered into a resilient leader. Because of his dedicated involvement in clubs and sports since the start of his high school journey, he’s now president of the Black Student Union, captain of the football team and a member of Gibbons Leadership Institute, a group recognizing the leading roles students have played within the school community.
“He is definitely a born leader,” said Black Student Union moderator Ian Solomon.
As president of Black Student Union, Kendall has truly shown his commitment to fostering a community for students here at Gibbons. He’s not only helped behind the scenes of the union, like planning and scheduling events, but he’s connected with his colleagues and classmates in a way that’s promoted a strong sense of bonding and community.
“Kendall was very essential in keeping us not only going, but thriving. He is very intentional, very methodical and a very committed individual who knows how to prioritize his tasks,” said Solomon.
Scotton’s diligence within the union, and on the field, has inspired others to strive to create an inviting environment within Gibbons by connecting and forming community with one another in a way that’s bigger than themselves, a legacy that will continue long after they walk the halls.
“He’s an inspiration to me,” said Solomon.
