Another successful Gibbons Dance Show has come and gone, providing multiple nights of entertaining and inspirational performances for friends, family, and educators to see and enjoy.
This semester’s show, Solstice, encompassed the many seasons and holidays that make up our calendar. Each group represented a different time of year, with varying costumes and music that gave detail to their specific performances.
Alessia Cornetta, a member of Dance III Honors, took part in a chilling Halloween themed dance where she and the rest of the performers came back from the dead. The attention to detail, shown in the movements and costumes, portrayed how hard the dance educators and students have been working all year.
“When we have our recitals, it’s like we’re showing off our teacher’s work that she has put in for the whole semester,” said Cornetta.
Mrs. Erica Seninsky and Mrs. Nikki Wadia, Gibbons’ dance educators, have clearly showcased the hard work that they put in this semester throughout the performance of Solstice. Not only do they never fail to put on a fun and entertaining show, their focus on community and the formation of friendships throughout their classes leave an equally as lasting impact on students and those who see their shows.
“The main thing I can take away from dance is the amount of friendships that I have built,” said Cornetta.
The fluidity and ease that was shown throughout the movements in each dance spoke of the deeper connections that each student had with each other.
The Dance elective at Gibbons continues to do big things for the community, in the way that it never fails to bring people together.
