Cardinal Gibbons is a community where support for everyone is held at a high importance. Everyone tries to be there for each other, whether it’s through good or bad. That’s what Mental Health Club is for, a safe space for Crusaders to discuss ways of maintaining positive mental health.
Everyone’s mental health is different, which is why establishing a group like Mental Health Club on campus is so important. It’s a space for everyone and anyone to talk about how their mental health is, whether it’s good or bad. There isn’t judgment in the club because people could be going through the same thing, or they have gone through something similar.
Like many other clubs at Cardinal Gibbons, this club is open to all students. Whether you want an opinion, or to just talk about your problems, the Mental Health club will be there for you.
This club promotes self-care, which includes not over-exerting yourself, trying to get into hobbies, trying to maintain a healthy environment, and many other things. Sometimes these things may not work for everyone, but you should always try.
They promote these ideas in many different ways by hosting events where students can come and partake in de-stressing activities. Last year at the end of finals week, mental health hosted an event out in the quad where students were welcomed to do some de-stressing activities like making bracelets, coloring, and much more to help students during the week.
Mental health club is a helpful resource for people who may be struggling. Everyone struggles with different things, including stress, anxiety, and many other issues, but in this club you can come together and share freely.
Overall this club is a good way to help your mental health, and it’s a good way to help others with their health too.
