Why You Should Attend the Gibbons Fall Guitar Concert

Do you like listening to music, specifically the sound of a guitar? If yes, you should attend the Gibbons Fall Guitar Concert on Wednesday, December 4, at 4 p.m. in the studio theater.

Tickets are free and available to the public, so come support your Gibbons friends and family!

Guitar is a fine art elective here at Gibbons and all students are able to take it. There is also an optional audition for Guitar 2 available to anyone who already has experience with the instrument. Both of these classes will be performing this week in the fall concert.

If you’re a student at Gibbons who enjoys music and wants to become familiar with a versatile instrument, guitar could be for you. There are many genres of music that are accompanied by guitar, making it a great choice for all music lovers. If you just want to change up your usual week and try something new, it’s still an excellent choice.

Mr. Stewart Aull, the guitar teacher at Gibbons, was a member of multiple bands throughout his life and has made many of his closest friends playing the guitar. He points out that it can be a way that you get together with your friends to do something fun once in a while. So, not only is guitar a way for you to learn and participate in something new, but to be introduced to people who enjoy a similar interest as you.

The fall concert will consist of seasonal songs, and will span from the late Renaissance all the way to contemporary Christmas songs written by many famous musicians. A few exciting artists featured include, The Beach Boys, Elvis, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. If you like any of the names shown, come out and support Gibbons Fall Guitar on Wednesday.

See you there!
