Cardinal Gibbons Spirit Week Themes

Students of Cardinal Gibbons, starting the Tuesday after Labor Day is School Spirit Week!

From sports jerseys to school colors, students will have plenty of chances to show their school spirit during Spirit Week, Sept. 8–11. The week will feature themed dress-up days, an assembly, a pep rally, the homecoming football game, and a special day of remembrance.

Spirit Week kicks off on Tuesday, Sept. 8 with Jersey Day, giving students the chance to represent their favorite teams. Juniors and seniors will also attend their Spirit Week assembly.

On Wednesday, Sept. 9 students will travel back in time for “Little You” Day, dressing up as younger versions of themselves and bringing some childhood fun to the school day.

Thursday, Sept. 10 will bring out the school colors for Green and Gold Day, to represent our Gibbons pride. Students will follow a Monday bell schedule, and the excitement will continue with a pep rally immediately after school. The day will end with the highly anticipated homecoming football game.

The final day, Friday, Sept. 11, will be Red, White, and Blue Day. During Mission Time from 9:45–10:12 a.m., the entire school will take part in activities focused on remembering those affected by the events of Sept. 11. During advisory and community time, students will choose from activities such as a prayer service, writing letters to first responders, and other opportunities to honor those impacted.

During Spirit Week, special dress code rules will be enforced. Students will be allowed to wear hats, jeans, leggings, sweatpants, and pajama pants, as long as they fit the theme of the day. Students not participating in Spirit Week must follow the normal dress code.

With a mix of fun, tradition, school pride, and reflection, this year’s Spirit Week promises something for everyone, and a memorable way to bring the school community together.
